In the Qur’an, Du’a is the secret that changed the destinies of prophets and righteous people:
Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prayed as he left his wife and son in a barren desert:
“Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley…”
And Allah made that place a sanctuary for all the world.
Nuh (peace be upon him) prayed as he saw the flood swallow everything:
“My Lord, help me because they have denied me.”
And Allah granted him victory.
Ayub (peace be upon him) prayed as he tasted illness and hardship:
“Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
And Allah restored his health.
Yunus (peace be upon him) prayed from the belly of the whale:
“There is no deity except You; glory be to You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.”
And Allah rescued him from darkness.
This is how the Qur’an teaches us that Du’a is never rejected if it comes from a sincere heart.
