As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches its end, the most precious and spiritually powerful days begin: the last ten nights of Ramadan.
These nights may seem few in number, but their rewards are immense. Among them is a night that Allah describes as better than a thousand months.
For the Prophet ﷺ, these nights were unlike any other time of the year. He would increase his worship and dedicate himself fully to devotion.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:
“When the last ten nights of Ramadan began, the Prophet ﷺ would tighten his belt, stay awake at night, and wake his family.”
This shows how seriously he approached these blessed nights.
Why Are the Last Ten Nights So Special?
The last ten nights are not simply the closing days of Ramadan. They represent the peak of the spiritual season.
Their virtues include:
They contain Laylat Al-Qadr (The Night of Decree), about which Allah says:
“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.”
This means that worship performed in a single night can be more rewarding than worship over 83 years.
The Prophet ﷺ used to perform i'tikaf (spiritual retreat) during these nights seeking this blessed night.
They provide a powerful opportunity for forgiveness, renewal, and spiritual transformation.
How Can We Make the Most of the Last Ten Nights?
There are simple yet incredibly rewarding acts of worship that every Muslim can increase during these nights.
1. Increase Your Recitation of the Quran
Ramadan is the month of the Quran, and the last ten nights are the best time to reconnect with it.
Try to:
Complete the Quran
Increase your daily recitation
Reflect on the meanings of the verses
Reciting the Quran during these nights brings peace, reflection, and spiritual closeness to Allah.
Learning to recite the Quran properly with Tajweed also deepens the beauty and meaning of recitation.
2. Perform Night Prayer (Qiyam)
Night prayer is one of the greatest acts of worship during these nights.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever stands in prayer during Laylat Al-Qadr with faith and seeking reward will have all their past sins forgiven.”
Even if the prayer is short:
Pray two units of prayer
Recite from the Quran
Lengthen your prostration and make heartfelt supplication
3. Make Abundant Du'a
One of the best supplications for these nights was taught by the Prophet ﷺ to Aisha (RA):
“Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni.”
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.)
Make time for sincere du'a:
After Taraweeh
During sujood
Before Fajr
4. Increase Dhikr and Istighfar
Small acts of remembrance can bring tremendous rewards.
Try repeating often:
SubhanAllah
Alhamdulillah
La ilaha illa Allah
Allahu Akbar
Astaghfirullah
5. Strengthen Your Relationship with the Quran
One of the best decisions a Muslim can make during these nights is to start a deeper journey with the Quran.
Instead of letting Ramadan pass without real progress, these nights can be the beginning of a lifelong connection with the Book of Allah.
Through Madrasat Al-Quran, students can benefit from structured programs that help them:
Learn to read the Quran correctly
Master the rules of Tajweed
Memorize the Quran with a clear plan
Study with qualified teachers in one-on-one online classes
These programs are designed for both children and adults, making Quran learning accessible from anywhere in the world.
Do Not Let This Opportunity Pass
The last ten nights are not ordinary nights.
They may be the most important ten nights of your entire life.
These nights could be the reason for:
The forgiveness of your sins
A complete transformation in your life
Or the beginning of your true relationship with the Quran.
Do not let them pass like every year.
Start today… even with a small step.
