The Chapter of Prayer
An Introduction to Prayer
In the midst of life’s rush and the pressure of passing days,
prayer may turn into mere moments for some.
But with Allah, it is an appointment.
For the believer, it is comfort.
And for the heart, it is rescue.
Prayer is not a set of memorized movements,
nor words repeated without presence.
It is a connection between the servant and his Lord,
a moment of standing in humility,
to rise stronger through Allah.
What Is Prayer?
Prayer is the greatest act of worship after faith.
It is the first deed for which a servant will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment.
It is the pillar of Islam and the foundation of a believer’s life.
It was not made obligatory on earth,
but was prescribed above the heavens,
to show its immense status and honor.
Why Does Prayer Hold Such a High Status?
Because prayer:
Prevents immorality and wrongdoing
Purifies the soul
Trains the heart to remain mindful of Allah
Resets the believer’s life five times a day
Whoever preserves prayer,
it preserves him.
And whoever neglects it,
loses much beyond it.
Why Learn the Fiqh of Prayer?
Because prayer is only accepted when it is:
Sincerely for Allah
In accordance with the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ
Many people pray with love,
yet are unaware of:
Its conditions
Its pillars
What invalidates it
And knowledge is what transforms prayer
from habit into true worship.
