ALIMAH PROGRAM“That They May Gain Understanding in Religion”
A Divine Call to Awaken Hearts, Shape Awareness, and Build an Ummah that Does Not Lose Its Way
When we reflect on this portion of the verse—
﴿ لِيَتَفَقَّهُوا فِي الدِّينِ ﴾
—we realize we are not standing before a casual piece of advice, nor a moral reminder. We are standing before a Divine framework for life, a path God Himself has chosen for His servants.
A path built on knowledge, on understanding, on clarity… not on imitation, assumptions, or blind following.
In this noble command, Allah is not merely inviting the believers to learn—
He is inviting them to deep comprehension, to the kind of knowledge that transforms hearts, reforms behavior, and guides the soul toward Him.
Knowledge may be information memorized,
but fiqh—true understanding—is light that enters the heart and changes one’s entire direction.
---
What Is True Understanding? And Why Is It at the Center of Revelation?
Fiqh is not the accumulation of rulings.
It is not a list of do’s and don’ts.
It is not reading a text once or attending a lecture occasionally.
Fiqh is seeing reality through the light of revelation—
making decisions upon clarity, living faith with awareness, and recognizing God’s wisdom in every command.
True understanding means:
Knowing the purpose behind the rulings.
Grasping the spirit and objectives of the Sharia.
Allowing knowledge to reshape your heart before your mind.
Moving from memorization → to comprehension → to practice → to sincerity.
This is why the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whomever Allah wishes good for, He grants him understanding of the religion.”
True understanding is a Divine gift,
a form of elevation,
a mark of being chosen for goodness.

Fiqh: Protection from Doubts, Safety in Trials, and Strength in Turbulent Times
Today’s world is crowded with voices, contradictions, philosophies, and waves of doubt.
Truth is often distorted.
Falsehood is decorated.
And hearts can easily lose their way.
In such chaos, the one who possesses understanding is the only one who walks with clarity.
Because understanding:
Plants a firm compass of truth in the heart.
Helps a believer weigh matters by the Qur’an, not by people’s opinions.
Grants certainty that doubts cannot shake.
Saves one from confusion, instability, and blind imitation.
One who lacks true understanding may know—but not be guided.
He may walk—but without knowing where he is going.

Understanding: The Path to Spiritual Elevation
True understanding is not a legal exercise;
it is a journey of drawing nearer to Allah.
Allah is not worshipped without knowledge,
nor obeyed without understanding,
nor reached except by clarity.
Among the greatest fruits of real understanding:
Purity of heart
Sweetness of faith
Tranquility that cannot be bought
Presence of heart in prayer
Wisdom in facing trials
Firmness when others slip
Whoever truly understands the religion… sees life as Allah wants it, not as people define it.
